The 2022 edition of the Annual National Education Conference successfully held at Shehu Musa Yar’dua Centre, Abuja for the Opening ceremony on Tuesday, 22nd November, 2022, while the second day of the programme took place at Agura Hotel on Thursday, 24th November, 2022. The theme of the Conference was “Democratic Transition, Industrial Revival and Job Creation: Setting Agenda for 2023”.

The Conference aimed at generating ideas for sustainable industrial revival, wealth creation and mass decent employment. It was also intended to assess the impact of government’s intervention in the cotton, textile and garment sector as well as small and medium scale enterprises.  It provided the platform to engage Presidential Candidates of the Political Parties on their Agenda for sustainable Industrialisation, wealth creation and mass decent employment in Nigeria. The Education conference attracted 322 participants drawn from the union’s branch and Informal Sector (self-employed Tailors) across the state of the country.

The political engagement at the Conference featured the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu represented by the Director, Directorate of Labour of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Comrade Issa Aremu, mni and the President Candidate of the Action Alliance, Major (rtd) Dr. Hamza Al Mustapha.  The conference was well attended by invited guests from home and abroad, resource persons, veterans of the union and other critical stakeholders.
