2-day in-plant seminar held at Sunflag Nigeria Limited from the 9th – 10th June, 2022 with over 30 participants drawn from the Branch Executives, Shop-stewards and Assistant Supervisors.

The importance of in-plant seminar as a critical component of the union’s education cannot be overstated.  In-plant seminar targets the shop-floor activists.  It builds the capacity of shop-floor activists and promotes deeper understanding of the union among branch officials.  It also helps to strengthen communication between the union and the management particularly on critical issues affecting the factory as well as the workers.    

This year’s in-plant seminar aims at improving the knowledge of participants on basic issues on health and safety at work, workers’ rights and the linkage between health and safety at work and productivity.  The in-plant seminar also offers opportunity to advance the union’s workplace activity on HIV as part of the series of activities under the NLC/ILO Project on HIV Self-Testing at Workplace.  Participants are provided the opportunity for voluntary and confidential HIV self-testing to know their HIV status.
