The union is making steady strides in organising all categories of workers in the textile and allied sector. Organising and recruitment remains the bedrock of the union. The first set of self employed tailors were organised in Lagos in 2005. Since then several branches have been consummated in many states of the Federation.
About 1500 tailors were newly organised by the union in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and formally inaugurated on Tuesday 14th March 2017. The union’s President, Comrade John Adaji and the General Secretary, Comrade Issa Aremu administered the oath of office to the newly elected branch executives.
